In P7 the children get many opportunities to read, whether it is as part of a small group, as a whole class or independently. The children also have a chance of sustained silent reading, which is independent, quiet reading. Each Monday we get the opportunity to use our well stocked whole school library for this purpose. The girls and boys really look forward to this precious time. Sustained silent reading has real benefits which include:
