As part of School's overall development plan in UICT, for the past 2 years all year groups have been working diligently to develop the pupils' ability in interactive design. As part of this strategy, P7 pupils have attended "Hour of Code" (a worldwide initiative; held locally at NRC Magherafelt Campus) for the past three years. The boys and girls enjoyed both programming Lego Robots and writing their own code (algorithms) to develop games using an online App that enables them to move avatars around in their own online game. They enjoyed their time at NRC and will continue to develop interactive design capabilities in various lessons throughout the year in P7.
