What a fantastic first week back in school. It has been so nice to see all the boys and girls in their new classes and getting back into school routine.
We had our first assembly of the new school year today and Mr Somerville talked to the children about a pencil. A nice new pencil is sharp and ready to work. This is how the boys and girls are at the start of the new school year. They are sharp, with a positive attitude ready to get to work. However, when you write with your pencil it gets blunt and needs to be sharpened. In the same way we all need to keep sharp and help each other to reach our full potential.
The children were all encouraged to remember this message as they went back to class to use their new pencils.
